Brian Clanton is Senior Vice President of Risk Management & Insurance Services (RMIS) with FCCS, where he develops and implements strategy while leading the company’s risk management and insurance practice. He leads all Farm Credit System risk management and property and casualty insurance functions and serves as president of the Farm Credit System Association Captive Insurance Company.
“I’m looking forward to finding ways to add even more value to our clients as we support their evolving risk and insurance needs,” says Brian. “I believe that by keeping our clients’ needs in mind as we explore and consider new coverages, industry developments, and new ways to deliver our services, we’ll continue to ‘sharpen our saw’ and help our clients mitigate the risks they face.”
Brian brings nearly 25 years of insurance industry experience to FCCS, including supporting both financial institutions and agribusinesses. He most recently served as senior vice president with Lockton Companies where he led the sales and operations functions, working on complex property and casualty solutions for large business owners. Prior to Lockton, he led operations at UNICO Group, a regional brokerage firm, where he developed underwriting guidelines, led claims processing, hired key personnel, and drove profitable growth for the organization. He also spent 10 years at State Farm Insurance where he was a commercial lines underwriting manager, leading 60+ employees across six states.
Brian earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska and a master’s degree in management, with honors, from Doane University. He holds CPCU, ARA, ACS and FLMI professional designations.
