Consultant and Corporate Counsel
Gregory J. Buehne is the Consultant and Corporate Counsel for FCCS. In his current role, he is responsible for providing legal consulting and support services to our clients, which would include subject areas such as Farm Credit Act and regulations, corporate matters and operations, contracts and loan documentation, regulatory development and compliance, stockholder reporting and actions, compliance training, policy and procedure development, participation in board, executive or other internal meetings, participation in corporate planning meetings, etc.
With 35 years of experience in providing superior legal and related executive services to the agricultural financial services industry, Gregory has the skills needed to counsel and assist clients in achieving their strategic objectives.
Before joining the team at FCCS, Gregory served as senior vice president and general counsel for numerous banks in Washington, California, and Colorado, including Farm Credit Bank of Spokane; AgAmerica, FCB; the $25 billion U.S. AgBank, FCB; and the $95 billion CoBank, ACB. In these roles, he provided legal advice to the board and executive management on all matters of corporate governance, business organizations, mergers, external relationships and affiliations, and internal operations.
With his extensive experience serving financial institutions that finance and provide leasing to large agribusinesses, rural utility and communication companies, and agricultural cooperatives nationwide, Gregory brings a wealth of knowledge to the FCCS team.
Gregory is a two-time University of Kansas graduate, earning both a JD and a BA. He has been admitted to the bar in Colorado, Washington, Idaho, and Kansas.
