Jay R. Lux is the Vice President of Organizational Development for FCCS. In his current role, he helps organizations understand, develop, and maximize talent. Jay helps organizations build strategy, construct succession and talent management systems, assess and select senior leadership, lead change, maximize team effectiveness, measure cultural and maximize engagement levels to improve results. In addition, Jay facilitates the Board evaluation process, Board planning and strategy sessions, and facilitates the Premier and Advanced Governance Series for Director development.
Jay helps organizations achieve measurable results and does so with the utmost value in mind, resulting in delighted clients and long-term partnerships. Jay believes that everyone has the opportunity to work in a role that fits their personality, style, preferences, and skills, and when this happens, the individual and the organization perform better.
When it comes to developmental career advice, Jay has a former manager and mentor to thank for this golden nugget: “Don’t bring me your dirty laundry without bringing your own jug of detergent.” This emboldened Jay to become proactive, to solve problems on his own and bring recommended solutions, or at least to do the heavy lifting of really thinking through potential solutions, rather than asking someone else to do it for him.
Outside of FCCS events, Jay is available for speaking engagements in the following areas of expertise: strategic talent management, succession management, employee engagement, individual and executive development, organization development, and organizational effectiveness, including team effectiveness and strategic planning.
Jay holds a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development from the University of St. Thomas’s School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Communication and Business from the University of Wisconsin–Eau Claire.
