The Growing Challenge Of Eligibility and Scope of Ag Lending

As the needs of our clients change and become more and more complex, and the expectation to grow business and expand portfolios, knowing what we can and cannot finance becomes increasingly challenging. In order to meet the expanding rural marketplace needs that Farm Credit can now finance, this session will give participants a wide range of information as it pertains to Eligibility and Scope of Lending. Eligibility and Scope are a challenge for the Farm Credit System due to regulations that define Ag Lending within the system. The presenters for this session will cover topics ranging from consumer loans to financing the other needs of full-time farmers. The presenters will also present information that addresses the non-traditional borrower.

Learner Outcomes:

1. Understand the types of loans that are now trending and if they are allowable or not.
2. Hear where some of the opportunities and challenges might exist in serving the non-traditional borrower
3. Gain knowledge on how to navigate the complex needs of clients.
